Helen Pitt has been a journalist for over 35 years, starting her career at The Sydney Morning Herald where she currently works as Spectrum Deputy Editor and regular columnist. She has worked as The Herald’s opinion and letters editor as well as a senior writer. She has worked for The New York Times in California, as a television reporter in France at Euronews and as a feature writer at The Bulletin magazine.

She has been a trustee of the Benevolent Fund since 2017.
